With various accommodation options from modern pod house to glamping at our off grid tipi village, we hope to have something that fulfils your sense of adventure, your desire for comfort and your heart’s need for nurturing and nourishment. At On the Rocks, we are a little obsessed with finding ways to bring more joy into life, through the simple, though profound, pleasures that abound in our natural world.
Where is the On The Rocks Located?
We are located in the Ngwempisi Wilderness Area, overlooking the Ngwempisi Gorge, where the river of the same name runs. The breathtaking views of the Ntfungulu Mountain, backdropped by stunning sunsets, are awe inspiring.
Activities
The hiking trails down to the river and back up the mountain, offer a fair amount of challenge to both novice and intermediate hiker. For those looking for more relaxation, a lounge around or dip in the pool is always an option.Bird enthusiasts are assured their fix with the wide variety of bird life, whether through sightings or birdsong.Low light pollution makes night time a treat for aspiring astronomer and humble stargazer alike. At the nudge of our inner children, we also love to lie on the grass, gaze upward and find pictures in the clouds as they roll on by.
